Brave River provided the IT support services and technical expertise needed to get the Panera Bread franchisee settled into a new office location with minimal downtime.
Warwick, RI - March 25, 2015 - Howley Bread Group (HBG), a franchisee of Panera Bread with 28 bakery-café locations throughout New England, utilized Brave River Solutions’s IT support services during their recent move to a new office. When HBG relocated their main office from Cumberland, RI to Lincoln, RI, the Brave River IT support team moved all computer hardware, set-up and tested Internet and Wi-Fi connections, worked with an outside vendor to get the phones set-up, configured the networks, and ensured that HBG staff was able to resume work quickly and effortlessly.
“Brave River did an amazing job with the coordination of all IT, computers and telephones. With Brave River’s help, the move went much smoother and the transition was much easier than we had anticipated," said Bahjat Shariff, Operating Partner and Senior VP of Operations at Howley Bread Group. The hardware moved and set-up by Brave River included seven end-user computers, seven printers (including a wireless printer), two fax machines, and two network switches.
Brave River also configured a VLAN (virtual local area network) at the new office, and used two individual networks – one for phone and one for data – to segregate the data flow. The new configuration allows the networks to communicate, while still remaining separate. By isolating voice traffic from data traffic, Brave River’s IT services professionals are able to avoid slowness and data collisions, which improves quality of service for both networks.
To help HBG increase efficiency, Brave River installed an enterprise-class Wi-Fi solution using two Wi-Fi access points, both capable of gigabit speeds. The new 802.11ac wireless network, also known as Gigabit Wi-Fi, supports the fastest data transfer speeds available today, a rate of 1 gigabit per second. This will provide HBG with increased bandwidth and network speed.
