Brave River Solutions Holds Successful E-Waste Recycling Day

Brave River Solutions raises $500 to benefit The Tomorrow Fund
Warwick, RI (July 29, 2008) - The procession of vehicles started early on Saturday, June 14th, 2008, as Brave River Solutions kicked off their first annual computer and electronics recycling day. In all, more than 1 ton of old or unwanted electronic waste was collected and $500 was raised.
The event successfully drew dozens of residents to the East Greenwich Panera Bread parking lot, where event co-sponsors Cartridge World Rhode Island and Office Recycling Solutions had a recycling truck set up to receive the eWaste.
Among the items collected for the voluntary donation fee of $1 per item were monitors, personal computers, televisions, printers, scanners, and laptops, all of which might otherwise have continued to eat up storage space in offices, basements and attics, or worse, made their way to the Central Landfill in Johnston.
100% of the proceeds raised will benefit The Tomorrow Fund to ensure that children with cancer and their families receive the best care possible.
Brave River would like to thank everyone who participated in the recycling drive for helping to make the event a success. This was Brave River Solutions’ first year participating in the recycling program, and they are looking to make it an annual event as part of their company-wide efforts to “Go Green.”

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Panera Bread for generously providing refreshments to all those who donated. Participants were treated to lemonade and samples of Panera’s new grilled breakfast sandwiches, and anyone who donated $10 or more to The Tomorrow Fund received an additional coupon for complementary, regular-sized frozen lemonade at Panera.
