The Brave River Sr. Project Manager / Business Analyst is a full-time position in a technical consulting environment. A Brave River Solutions Senior Project Manager / Business Analyst (Sr. PM/BA) oversees a variety of Business Technology Projects for our clients. Projects range from the implementation, customization, and integration of eCommerce systems to adding functionality to existing custom applications, to managing the full custom design and development of complex business applications.
Overview
As the project leader guiding both the client team and the internal Brave River project development team, the Sr. Project Manager works independently to drive projects from inception to completion. The Sr. PM/BA is responsible for assembling the project team, assigning individual responsibilities, managing daily/weekly activities, and developing and managing the project plan to ensure an on-time under-budget completion of project.
This is a hands-on role in a consulting environment. The Sr. Project Manager / Business Analyst must be able to translate business requirements and project objectives into an actionable project plan, consisting of Azure Devops work items (epics, features, user stories and tasks). The Sr. PM/BA manages activities across the teams (designers and developers), monitors project progress toward the defined objectives and project plan, and actively participates in QA testing.
A thorough understanding and deep experience with the custom software development life cycle from requirements definition through QA is required. Experience with Website/eCommerce Development, software platform implementations, IT Infrastructure Project Management, or Business Process Reviews is a plus.
The Sr. PM/BA will communicate with the Director of Operations, Chief Technology Officer, and client Project Manager regarding the status of projects relative to timeline and budget. The Sr. Project Manager /Business Analyst must be able to develop and manage a living project plan, identify changes in scope, and communicate impact on timeline and budget.

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients to define and manage projects and the ongoing client relationship.
- Ability to work/manage multiple projects at the same time
- Work with clients to gather business requirements
- Develop detailed business requirements documents (for both sales proposals and project documentation)
- Create a task list, user stories, and project plan using Azure DevOps
- Collaborate with and manage development teams regarding:
- Product Roadmaps
- Technical architecture
- Technical requirements
- Adherence to project/task estimates and schedules
- Experience managing off-shore development teams is a plus
- Conduct weekly/biweekly status meetings with clients and development teams
- Oversee the support of software once launched to the production environment
- Develop a test plan and conduct formal QA before passing site/system to the Client for project acceptance.
- Be proficient in MS SQL as part of the system design/architecture and QA portions of the software development life cycle.
- Participate in sales cycles by being part of initial discussions, gathering functional requirements and working with developers to estimate the project.
- Be proficient in Shopify and/or Big Commerce, or another eCommerce platform
- Demonstrate ownership and responsibility for project success and be willing to work with the team to achieve it.
The successful candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in some/all of the following aspects of Project Management in a technical environment:
- Custom Software Development
- eCommerce development / eCommerce platform implementation
- Product Management
- Detailed business requirements documentation/ User Story development
- Project planning/execution with Azure DevOps or Jira
- Project Estimating
- Technical system architecture (web and database components) from a PM/BA perspective
- Graphical design / UI / UX, from a PM/BA perspective
- Proficiency in understanding relationships and querying SQL databases
- Client interaction in a consulting environment
- Experience with Reporting / BI Tools
- Experience implementing solutions for clients using other platforms (e-commerce, CMS, etc.)
- Structuring test plans and executing formal QA testing
- Collaborating and working with development teams
- Overseeing IT infrastructure projects & initiatives
