Senior Project Manager / Business Analyst

The Brave River Solutions Sr. Project Manager / Business Analyst (Sr. PM/BA) oversees a variety of Technology initiatives for a large web-based payment platform. The position includes overall project management and client relations, along with performing a Business Analyst role on software development projects and overseeing the technical support process for the product. As the project leader guiding the internal software development team members, the Sr. Project Manager works independently to drive projects from inception to completion. The Sr. PM/BA is responsible for assembling the project team, assigning individual responsibilities, managing daily/weekly activities, and developing and managing the project plan to ensure an on-time under-budget completion of project.

This is a hands-on role in a consulting environment. The Sr. Project Manager / Business Analyst must be able to translate business requirements and project objectives into an actionable project plan, consisting of Azure DevOps work items (epics, features, user stories and tasks). The Sr. PM/BA manages activities across the teams (designers and developers), monitors project progress toward the defined objectives and project plan, and actively participates in QA testing.

A thorough understanding and deep experience with the custom software development life cycle from requirements definition through QA is required. Experience with Website / E-commerce Development, software platform implementations, IT Infrastructure Project Management, or Business Process Reviews is a plus.

The Sr. PM/BA will collaborate and communicate with the Brave River Director of Operations, Chief Technology Officer, and client Project Manager in managing projects and support activities. The Sr. Project Manager /Business Analyst must be able to develop and manage a living project plan, identify changes in scope, and communicate impact on timeline and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with client representatives to define and manage projects and the ongoing client relationship.
  • Manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Work with clients to gather and document detailed business requirements.
  • Create a task list, user stories, and project plan using Azure DevOps (or Jira).
  • Collaborate with and manage development team members relating to Product Roadmaps, functional needs, and technical requirements.
  • Adhere to project/task estimates and schedules.
  • Conduct weekly/biweekly status meetings with clients and development teams
  • Oversee the support of software once launched to the production environment
  • Develop a test plan and conduct formal QA before passing site/system to the Client for project acceptance.
  • Be proficient in MS SQL as part of the system design/architecture and QA portions of the software development life cycle.
  • Demonstrate ownership and responsibility for project success and be willing to work with the team to achieve it.

Experience with some or all of the following are a plus:

  • E-commerce development / E-commerce platform implementation
  • Product Management
  • Project Estimating
  • Technical system architecture (web and database components) from a PM/BA perspective
  • Graphical design / UI / UX, from a PM/BA perspective
  • Overseeing IT infrastructure projects & initiatives
  • Automated regression testing
  • Experience managing offshore development team
  • Previous exposure to / experience with coding is advantageous but not required
